What is a crown?
A cap that covers and protects a damaged tooth โ completely.
A dental crown (also called a cap) is a custom-made restoration that fits over the entire visible portion of a damaged or weakened tooth, from the gum line up. Unlike a filling, which only fills a cavity, a crown encases the whole tooth โ restoring its original shape, strength, and appearance while protecting the remaining structure from further damage.
Most dental insurance plans cover 50โ80% of crown costs

Frequently Asked Questions
From scheduling your first appointment to exploring Invisalign, insurance, and payment options, weโre here to help you feel informed about your dental care.
What is a dental crown used for?
A crown covers and protects a tooth that’s damaged, weakened, or badly decayed, restoring its shape, strength, and appearance. It’s one of the most dependable ways to save a tooth that might otherwise need to come out.
Can I really get a crown in one visit?
In many cases, yes. Thanks to same-day technology, we can design and place a porcelain crown in a single appointment. No temporary crown, no second visit needed.
How long do porcelain crowns last?
With good care, porcelain crowns typically hold up for ten to fifteen years, sometimes longer. Keeping up with oral hygiene and easing up on heavy grinding both help stretch that lifespan.
Is getting a crown painful?
We numb the area with local anesthesia, so you shouldn’t feel pain during the procedure itself. A little sensitivity afterward is normal and usually settles within a few days.
Will a porcelain crown match the color of my natural teeth?
Yes, that’s one of the best things about porcelain. We custom-shade every crown so it blends right in with your surrounding teeth, and the result looks completely natural.
What's the difference between a crown and a veneer?
A crown wraps around the entire tooth and is mainly there to restore strength after damage or decay, while a veneer only covers the front surface and is more about cosmetic improvement. We’ll help you figure out which one your tooth actually needs.
How do I care for a tooth after getting a crown?
Treat it like any other tooth: regular brushing, flossing, and checkups. Just go easy on especially hard foods, and your crown should last as long as it’s meant to.
